The short answer

What is the FBISE Class 9 formal letter format?
The FBISE SSC-I formal letter is worth 8 marks: 5 for the body and half a mark each for the sender's address, date, receiver's address, subject, salutation and complimentary close. FBISE's framework says a letter with only the format and no content gets zero.
Use this layout:
Examination Hall
City A.B.C.8 October 2026
The Principal
ABC School
CitySubject: Request to organise a career counselling workshop
Respected Sir/Madam,
[Opening: one or two sentences saying who you are and why you are writing.]
[Main paragraph(s): the details. What you want, why it matters, and a practical suggestion such as a date or speaker.]
[Closing: one or two sentences thanking them and stating what you hope will happen.]
Yours sincerely,
X.Y.Z.
Tips: keep the tone polite and direct. Use "Yours sincerely" when you address someone by name or title like "Respected Sir", or follow your teacher's convention for "Yours faithfully". Never write your real name or address; FBISE's own papers use placeholders like X.Y.Z. and City A.B.C.
What is the FBISE Class 11 letter and job application format?
The FBISE HSSC-I letter and job application are each worth 8 marks, with 4 to 5 marks for the body. The HSSC-I framework gives this breakdown:
| Formal letter | Marks | Job application | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Examination Hall, City A.B.C. | 1 | Receiver's address | 1 |
| Date | 0.5 | Subject | 1 |
| Receiver's address | 1 | Body | 5 |
| Salutation | 0.5 | Yours sincerely / truly / faithfully | 0.5 |
| Body | 4 | X.Y.Z. | 0.5 |
| Yours sincerely / truly / faithfully | 0.5 | ||
| X.Y.Z. | 0.5 |
The body has three parts in both: an opening of 1 to 2 sentences, the objective in 3 to 6 sentences, and a closing of 1 to 2 sentences. FBISE awards format marks only if the body is written properly. The job application is written without a covering letter.
Job application body, in short: say which post you are applying for and where you saw it; give your qualifications and relevant experience in two or three sentences; say why you suit the role; end by requesting an interview and thanking them.
What is the FBISE report writing format?
The FBISE HSSC-I report is worth 8 marks: half a mark each for Date, To, From and Subject, 1 mark for the introduction, 4 for the body and 1 for the ending. You write it on an unseen topic using the points given.
Date: 8 October 2026

Subject: Report on [topic]Introduction: what happened or what was investigated, and when.

How do you write the FBISE Class 9 paragraph and dialogue?
The FBISE SSC-I paragraph is 80 to 100 words on one topic, worth 6 marks. Write one clear topic sentence, three or four supporting sentences with an example, and a closing sentence. Do not exceed the limit by much; a tight paragraph reads better.
The dialogue is also worth 6 marks. FBISE's framework asks for at least six exchanges besides the opening and closing, more than one speaker, settings or background in brackets, and tone that suits the speakers. For example:
(A school library, afternoon. A student returns a book.)
Librarian: Did you enjoy the novel?
Student: Very much. I finished it in two days.
...
How do you write the FBISE Class 10 narrative?
The FBISE SSC-II narrative is 100 to 125 words on one of three cues: a topic, a moral, or a scenario to complete. It is worth 6 marks. The framework rewards a conflict or problem, some dialogue, description, a logical ending, and correct language.
A simple shape: setting (one or two sentences), problem, what the character does (with one line of dialogue), resolution, lesson or reflection. Write in the past tense and stay within the word limit.
How do you write the FBISE English essay?
The FBISE essay is multi-paragraph: 200 to 250 words in Class 10 (10 marks) and 250 to 300 words in Class 12 (12 marks, expanding a given outline). Both frameworks ask for coherence, cohesion and accuracy in grammar and vocabulary.
Use a five-paragraph structure:
- Introduction (2 to 3 sentences): introduce the topic and state your main idea.
- Body paragraph 1: first point with an example.
- Body paragraph 2: second point with an example.
- Body paragraph 3: third point, or the other side if the topic is argumentative.
- Conclusion (2 to 3 sentences): sum up and end with a clear final thought.
Essay tips that earn marks:
- In Class 12, follow the outline given in the question. Every point in the outline should appear.
- Start each body paragraph with a topic sentence.
- Use linking words (firstly, moreover, however, as a result, in conclusion).
- Give real examples from daily life in Pakistan instead of general claims.
- Keep five minutes to proofread for spelling, tense and subject-verb agreement.
- Avoid memorised essays pasted onto a different topic. Examiners notice, and FBISE topics change.
