The short answer
How to score 95% in FBISE Class 10: learn every summative SLO in your Assessment Frameworks, practise questions daily instead of only rereading, solve timed model and past papers, and remove careless mistakes. Ninety-five percent leaves you about 5 marks to lose in every 100, so consistency across all subjects matters more than brilliance in one.

Last updated 10 October 2026. No method can guarantee a score. This is how to give yourself the best real chance.
Toppers are built, not crammed. High marks are a great goal, and the students who get them usually share a few habits. None of them is magic.
What does 95% mean in the FBISE grading system?
Under FBISE's revised grading, 91 to 95% is an A+ and 96 to 100% is an A++. This scale applies to SSC-II (Class 10) from the First Annual Examinations 2027 (FBISE notification, 7 October 2025). So 95% sits at the top of A+, and one or two more marks per paper moves you to A++.
Think of it per paper. In a 75-mark paper, 95% means losing no more than about 3.75 marks. That is one wrong 3-mark answer and a careless MCQ. Every mark counts, which is why the habits below focus on accuracy, not just coverage.
Which FBISE paper pattern will Class 10 sit in 2027?
Most FBISE Class 10 students in 2027 sit the existing pattern: a 20-minute MCQ section and 2 hours 40 minutes for short and long answers. The new 50% MCQ pattern reaches SSC-II only for students who took SSC-I on that pattern in the Second Annual 2026, and fully from 2028 (FBISE notification, 7 August 2026).
For example, the SSC-II Physics model paper has 12 MCQ marks, 33 marks of short questions and 20 marks of long questions. Most marks are written. That means presentation, units and steps decide whether you reach 95%. Our FBISE paper pattern 2027 guide has every class and subject in tables.
Step 1: How do you study from SLOs instead of only the textbook?
Download the Assessment Framework for each subject from the FBISE model paper page and use its SLO list as your checklist. FBISE says board papers are based on the summative SLOs in these frameworks, not on one textbook (FBISE, August 2024).
For each SLO, ask: can I explain it, give an example and answer a question on it without looking? Mark each one green, yellow or red. Your red list is your study plan.
Step 2: Why does daily self-testing beat rereading?
Testing yourself makes memory last longer than reading the same page again. In a well-known 2006 study, students who practised recalling a passage remembered much more a week later than students who reread it, even though rereaders felt more confident (Roediger and Karpicke, 2006). A large 2013 review rated practice testing and spaced practice as the two most useful study techniques, and rereading and highlighting as low utility (APS summary of Dunlosky et al.).
What this looks like for you:
- Close the book and write what you remember about a topic. Then check.
- Do 15 to 20 MCQs a day across subjects, and note why each wrong answer was wrong.
- Come back to a chapter after 2 days, then a week, then a month. That spacing beats one long session.
Step 3: How do you stop losing easy marks?
Many students who miss 95% lose marks they already knew. Track your mistakes for two weeks and you will see a pattern. The usual culprits:
- Units and steps missing in Physics and Chemistry numericals. Write formula, substitution, answer with SI unit. Our physics numericals guide shows the layout.
- Diagrams without labels in Biology and Physics.
- Format marks dropped in English letters and Urdu applications. In FBISE English, format marks are given only when the body is written properly.
- Misreading the question. "Define" and "explain" want different lengths.
- Skipping a part of an OR question or leaving the last question half-done because of time.
Keep a "galti diary". Before every test, read it for two minutes.
Step 4: How should Class 10 students use past and model papers?
Use FBISE model papers to learn the pattern and past papers to practise timing and presentation. Start with chapter-wise questions in the first months. From about eight weeks before the first paper, do one full timed paper per subject per week, mark it honestly against the scheme, and spend more time on the corrections than on the paper itself. The full method is in how to use past papers.
Step 5: How much should you study each day for 95%?
Two to three focused hours on school days is enough for most students in the first months, rising in the last eight weeks. Focus matters more than hours: 50 minutes of self-testing beats three hours of scrolling between pages. Plan the week, not just the day, and leave one buffer evening for catching up. See how to make a study timetable, and for the full Class 9 and 10 plan, how to prepare for matric 2027.
Sleep is part of the plan, not a break from it. Teenagers need 8 to 10 hours, and short sleep hurts attention and learning, according to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Subject by subject: how to score 95% in FBISE Class 10?
| Subject | Where high scorers gain marks |
|---|---|
| Mathematics | Every step written, neat working, checking answers by substitution |
| Physics | Units, labelled diagrams, numericals in a fixed layout |
| Chemistry | Balanced equations, state symbols where asked, exact definitions |
| Biology | Labelled diagrams, correct terms, structured long answers |
| English | Precis and essay practice, letter and narrative format, grammar MCQs |
| Urdu | Clean tashreeh with markazi khayal, essay with headings |
| Pakistan Studies / Islamiyat | Structured answers with clear points and headings |
What if your Class 9 marks were not great?
Your Class 9 result does not decide your Class 10 result. Many students improve a lot once they fix their method. FBISE also lets students who have passed reappear to improve marks or grade in papers of Part I or Part II, as its SSC 2nd Annual 2026 notice describes. Check eligibility and dates on fbise.edu.pk before you plan around it.
Where does Qurricular fit in?
Qurricular is a board exam prep app for Pakistani students from Class 9 to A Level, with the full FBISE Class 9 to 12 syllabus mapped outcome by outcome. Its practice uses spaced repetition and shows your mastery per chapter, so weak chapters keep coming back until you master them. The analytics show accuracy per subject, which is exactly the number to watch on the way to 95%.
Frequently asked questions
Is 95% possible in FBISE Class 10?
Yes, 95% in FBISE Class 10 is possible, but nobody can guarantee it. It takes understanding of every summative SLO, daily practice, timed papers and very few careless mistakes.
What grade is 95% in FBISE?
Under FBISE's revised grading, 91 to 95% is A+ and 96 to 100% is A++. The new scale applies to SSC-II from the First Annual Examinations 2027.
How many hours should a Class 10 student study to score 95%?
Two to three focused hours on school days works for most Class 10 students, with more in the last two months. Focused hours with self-testing matter more than the total.
Can I score 95% if my Class 9 marks were low?
You can improve a lot in Class 10, and FBISE allows improvement of Class 9 papers too. Start with your weakest subject and track your accuracy every week.
Are past papers enough to score 95% in FBISE?
Past papers help, but FBISE sets papers from SLOs, so new questions appear. Learn every SLO first, then use past and model papers to practise timing and presentation.
