When did the FBISE 2026 results come out?

FBISE announced the HSSC-I and HSSC-II First Annual Examination 2026 result on 9 September 2026, according to an FBISE circular. Results are on the FBISE results portal, linked from the board's home page. Keep a saved copy or screenshot of your result card; you will need your roll number for everything below.

How do you read your FBISE result under the new grading?

FBISE now grades papers from A++ (96 to 100%) to D (40 to 50%), and below 40% is U (Ungraded). This revised scale applies to SSC-I and HSSC-I from the First Annual Examinations 2026, and to SSC-II and HSSC-II from 2027 (FBISE notification, 7 October 2025).

A U in a paper is not the end of anything. It means you reappear in that paper, if otherwise eligible. Plenty of students clear it at the next sitting and go on to do very well.

Should you apply for FBISE rechecking?

Apply for rechecking only if a paper is clearly lower than you expected, for example a subject you were strong in all year. FBISE's process is recounting: according to a result.pk explainer, it checks that question totals are added correctly, that subtotals carry to the title page, and that no part of an answer was left unmarked. It is not a fresh marking of your answers, and if an error is found the other way, marks can go down.

Good reasons to apply: you are confident about specific answers, or one paper is far below your others. Weak reasons: you are a few marks short of the next grade and hoping for luck.

How do you apply for FBISE rechecking step by step?

FBISE runs rechecking online, with the fee paid by a system-generated challan. Use only official FBISE pages:

  1. Find the current notice on fbise.edu.pk for the rechecking deadline and fee per paper. Older figures online conflict, so trust only the current notice.
  2. Apply online through FBISE's applications portal, choosing your class, roll number and the papers.
  3. Pay the challan within the deadline and keep the receipt.
  4. Track your application at applications.fbise.edu.pk/rechecking with your roll number. The page shows the status, the papers you applied for, and lets you print the outcome letter.
  5. See your paper if you need to. FBISE's tracking page says you can visit the office of the Controller of Examinations (Test Evaluation) between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. on any working day, within 10 days of the letter being issued, after recounting is completed.
  6. Get a revised result card if your marks change. FBISE has a form for issuing a revised result card after rechecking, submitted with your original card.

Can you improve your FBISE marks after passing?

Yes. FBISE lets candidates who have passed reappear, if otherwise eligible, in any number of subjects or papers of Part I, Part II or both to improve their marks or grade. This is stated in FBISE's SSC 2nd Annual 2026 notice and HSSC 2nd Annual 2026 notice. Key rules from those notices:

  • If you reappear in both parts of a subject with a practical, you also sit the practical. If you reappear in only one paper or one part, you do not.
  • A candidate appearing in any failure or improvement paper of Part I or Part II pays the full fee of that part. For the 2nd Annual 2026, the admission fee was Rs. 2,700 per part for SSC and Rs. 3,000 per part for HSSC (Pakistan candidates).
  • For the HSSC 2nd Annual 2026, FBISE said improvement and failure candidates in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science continue with the existing paper pattern, not the new 50% MCQ pattern (HSSC notice; background in the 50% pattern notification).

FBISE's December 2021 notification, based on an IBCC decision, allows SSC and HSSC students to improve subjects within four years, with multiple chances, before obtaining a higher qualification. After improving, you can apply for an improvement certificate; FBISE's application form lists the fee (check that it is current).

When is the next chance to sit an FBISE improvement or supplementary paper?

FBISE holds a second annual examination each year for improvement, failure and other eligible cases. According to FBISE notices, the SSC 2nd Annual Examination 2026 began on 24 September 2026 and the HSSC 2nd Annual Examination 2026 begins on 28 October 2026. Admission forms closed earlier (the last HSSC date, with triple fee, was 30 September 2026).

If you missed these, plan for the next sitting and watch fbise.edu.pk for the 2027 admission schedule. Do not rely on dates from unofficial sites.

Is an improvement exam worth it?

An improvement exam is worth it when the gain matters for your next step and you can prepare without harming your current class. Ask yourself:

  1. Does my target admission use these marks? Many admissions look at matric and FSc marks, so a better grade can matter.
  2. How big is the gap? A few marks in one paper may be easier to recover than several papers at once.
  3. Can I fit it in? Preparing for an improvement paper while starting 1st year or 2nd year needs a clear weekly plan.
  4. Was it bad luck or a method problem? If your preparation method was the issue, change the method before retrying. Our guide on how to use past papers is a good place to start.

What to do after FBISE result 2026 if you just passed matric?

After matric, your main decision is your intermediate group. Compare the options in pre-medical or pre-engineering, and try the free career counsellor if you are unsure which careers fit you. Then start 1st year with a steady plan; the FBISE 2027 preparation guide shows how.

What should you do next after the 1st year (HSSC-I) result?

After the HSSC-I result, use it as a map. Your weakest subjects and chapters tell you where to start 2nd year, and if you are planning improvement in Part I papers, schedule that preparation around your 2nd year studies. Most 2nd year students in 2027 sit the existing FBISE paper pattern; see the FBISE paper pattern 2027 guide.

How do you handle a disappointing result?

A disappointing result is one data point, not your identity. Take a day, talk to someone you trust, then make a plan with specific papers, dates and study methods. Many students do much better on a second attempt once they change how they study, not just how long.

Qurricular is a board exam prep app for Pakistani students from Class 9 to A Level, with the full FBISE Class 9 to 12 syllabus. Its analytics track your accuracy per subject and its practice shows your mastery per chapter, so an improvement plan starts from where you actually lost marks.

Frequently asked questions

How do I apply for FBISE rechecking?

FBISE handles rechecking as recounting through its online applications portal, with fees paid by challan. You can track your application by roll number at applications.fbise.edu.pk/rechecking. Check fbise.edu.pk for the current deadline and fee.

Does FBISE rechecking mean my paper is marked again?

FBISE's process is recounting: it checks that totals are added correctly and no answer was left unmarked, rather than re-marking your answers. Marks can go up or, if an error is found the other way, down.

Can I improve my FBISE marks after passing?

Yes. FBISE allows candidates who have passed to reappear, if otherwise eligible, in any number of subjects or papers of Part I, Part II or both to improve marks or grade. An IBCC-based policy allows improvement within four years, before a higher qualification.

What happens if I get U (Ungraded) in an FBISE paper?

Under FBISE's revised grading, below 40% is Ungraded and you reappear in that paper if otherwise eligible. FBISE holds a second annual examination each year for such cases.

When is the FBISE 2nd annual exam 2026?

FBISE notices say the SSC 2nd Annual Examination 2026 began on 24 September 2026 and the HSSC 2nd Annual Examination 2026 begins on 28 October 2026. Admission deadlines for both have passed, so plan for the next sitting and confirm on fbise.edu.pk.
