Biology is your future MDCAT goldmineThroughout Class 9 and 10

MDCAT's biggest section is Biology. The concepts you learn in Class 9 and 10 Biology (cell, human physiology, genetics basics) return in FSc and again in MDCAT. Don't just memorise for the board exam — actually understand diagrams, processes and terminology now, so Class 11 feels like revision instead of new learning.

Chemistry and Physics carry equal weight laterThroughout Class 9 and 10

MDCAT tests Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English. Matric-level Chemistry (chemical bonding, acids and bases) and Physics (motion, electricity) are the foundation of the FSc syllabus. A weak Matric concept becomes a weak MDCAT topic two years later, so clear doubts now, not during FSc.

Many public medical colleges include Matric marks in the final merit aggregate (typically a small percentage, alongside FSc marks and MDCAT score). Every mark in Class 9 and 10 board exams protects your aggregate later. Aim for 90%+ so you have a cushion, not a deficit.

Choose FSc Pre-Medical — the only stream that keeps MBBS openAfter Class 10 results

After Matric you must pick FSc Pre-Medical (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) to sit MDCAT. Pre-Engineering, ICS and I.Com close this door. A Level students need Biology, Chemistry and Physics and must get equivalence through IBCC. Decide by admission time after Class 10 results — take Pre-Medical even if you keep other careers in mind.

MDCAT includes an English section, and medical college is taught in English. Build vocabulary, grammar and reading speed now through your Matric English course plus regular reading — this is the easiest section to bank marks in if your base is strong.

Board exams (Matric / O Level)Spring, Class 10 (and per-board Class 9 exams)

Class 9 exams (where your board holds them) and Class 10 board exams in spring are the only formal tests now. These marks feed your admission aggregate later, so treat them like a rehearsal for FSc board exams.

Scientific reading and note-makingDaily habit

English vocabulary and comprehension15 minutes daily

MDCAT has an English section. Build word lists and read English articles daily. Free start: Khan Academy grammar practice or free vocabulary apps and BBC Learning English.

Study discipline and time managementFrom Class 9

MBBS and MDCAT prep demand long consistent hours. Practise a fixed daily study timetable in Class 9–10 so the FSc routine is not a shock. Free start: free Pomodoro timers and study-planner templates online.

Basic digital literacyClass 9–10

You will later use online lectures, LMS portals and research reading. Learn to search academic content, use spreadsheets for your own marks tracker. Free start: Google's free Digital Garage or YouTube tutorials.

National Science Olympiads and school quizzesClass 9–10, as announced

Watch for biology and science olympiads and quizzes announced through your school or science bodies — winning or even participating strengthens your profile and deepens the exact subjects MDCAT tests. Ask your science teacher which ones your school registers for.
